Kristin Collins, LPC, CMPC

Counselor

I believe that each individual is unique and find it important to work collaboratively with my clients in order to find the treatment method that is most beneficial. My passion for helping others supports a warm, welcoming environment that facilitates growth and development.

I like to take a holistic approach, which looks at the individual as a whole and focuses on the individual’s wellness, not just an illness or condition. I am trained in EMDR therapy and prefer including evidence-based techniques and skills, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, in order to tackle my client’s struggles.

I have clinical experience working with trauma, anxiety, grief, stress management, relational conflict, and sport performance/sport related issues. I specialize in working with adolescents, adults, and athletes.

I have experience working with Duke University Athletics’ Behavioral Health Team and Westminster College’s Athletics and Counseling Center. I am a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) administered through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology. I received my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Slippery Rock University, during which I served as an Assistant Coach for their women’s volleyball team. I received her Bachelors in Psychology from Juniata College where I also played volleyball.
